As temperatures soar across the Lower Mainland, gas prices also continue to climb.
Last week, petroleum analyst Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, predicated Vancouver drivers would expect to pay $1.70 per litre for gasoline. The last record set in Vancouver was in the summer of 2019, when gasoline prices hit $1.72 per litre.
Now, McTeague says prices at Vancouver gas stations will "finally" fall a couple of cents a litre on Wednesday (June 30) to "a high of 168.9 cents a litre."
The drop in prices at the pumps may not hold over Wednesday night, however. McTeague expects there will be a rise of "at least a 1 cent increase" Thursday.
