Raincouver will be living up to its moniker this weekend.
With rain and showers expected right through to Monday, the hot weekend fashion accessory will probably be umbrellas. Maybe waterproof boots. Bright yellow rain slickers are a dark horse.
With up to 25 mm expected to fall today and tonight, St. Patrick's Day will make sure the plants are well watered. The precipitation will lighten up around midnight, according to Environment Canada, but that still means a 60 per cent chance of showers Friday.
And come Friday night the rain will be back. It's expected to last until Saturday evening when things will slow down to a 40 per cent chance of showers.
Sunday, March 20, will see the showers throughout the morning and into the afternoon before it starts raining in earnest again later the day.
Monday, and the beginning of next week, will be wet, with a chance of a mix of sun and cloud coming on Wednesday, March 23.
On the upside, the wet weather brings stable temperatures with highs consistently in the 10 C range over the weekend and lows mostly around 6 C, though Saturday night may drop to 4 C. It'll be the cold point of the week.
