While Vancouver's latest cold snap and accompanying snowfall may be pretty from the ground, aerial footage of the frozen city offers another beautiful view.
In a recent flight over the city, outdoor photographer Taylor Burk captured Vancouver's snowy blanket stretching from Annacis Island to the UBC endowment lands. Also seen in the12 second video is an expansive view of the ice floes on the Fraser River. The snow and cold are expected to continue in the city, too. The mercury is expected to drop even further on Dec. 28, with temperatures feeling more like -18°C. The daily high is expected to be -5°C with an overnight low of -5°C.

Heavy snowfall is also expected beginning Wednesday evening. Total amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected, with greater amounts expected inland and at places at higher elevations.
