B.C. police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office investigating a fatal police-involved shooting that occurred on the Granville Street Bridge last night.
VPD officers responded to a 911 call about a man behaving erratically on the bridge around 6:45 p.m. last night. Police say an altercation ensued when officers arrived, which resulted in the man being shot and killed by police.
The IIO is now leading the investigation into the incident and no other information has been made available.
The Granville Street Bridge was shut down between 7 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. last night.
