After some nice, warm weather to start March off, it's back to the usual for Vancouver this week.
Average temperatures, grey skies and showers are forecast, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Nan Lu.
"For Vancouver next week we're not expecting anything that's out of the normal," she tells V.I.A.
The average high for this time of year is around 12 C or 13 C; over the next few days the forecast high is in the 10 C to 15 C range, Lu explains, with lows between 5 and 7 C (the average is around 4 C).
"It's very close to normal," she says. "It's very typical March weather."
Monday, March 25, and Tuesday, March 26, are expected to be similar with a few relatively light showers and grey skies straight through. By Wednesday a low pressure system is expected that'll bring a bit more serious rain until Thursday, but Lu notes it won't result in anything extreme.
"There may possibly be some windy conditions," she says, adding that no strong winds are expected in the Lower Mainland, but Vacouver Island will be windier.
Friday is expected to be a transition day with sunshine hopefully breaking through as the weekend approaches.
"For the week it looks cloudy and wet, unfortunately," Lu says.
Right now, she adds, next weekend is looking nice, but there's uncertainty in the models forecasting that far out, and it may change a bit over the intervening days.
