Belgian martial artist Jean-Claude Camille François Van Varenberg, better known as Hollywood action star Jean Claude Van Damme was one of the biggest names in Hollywood throughout the late-80s and into the late 90s.
Then he bought a condo in Vancouver and wasn't as famous for a while. Those things aren't probably related, but it is true that he no longer owns that condo.
In fact, it's up for sale for $10 million (well, $9.998 million). That's right, 3603-938 Nelson Street, also known as One Wall Centre, is for sale.
Actually, it's back up for sale; in March 2021 with another broker (and more secrecy about the star) it hit the market at $12.8 million and change - the most expensive condo in Vancouver.
It's a massive condo at 4,674 square feet; that's because when it was being built Van Damme had three suites turned into one. That explains why the condo sitting more than 30 stories up has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Among the luxuries, it has a formal dining room, chef's kitchen and a 150 sq. ft. dressing room. There's also three fireplaces (with at least one electric and one gas) a media room and a wet bar (that apparently comes fully loaded).
It also comes with lots of parking with six spaces underground.
Perhaps the best part of the sky-high home is the windows (specifically, what you can see through them), with panoramic views ranging from Mount Baker to English Bay to Burrard Inlet.
There's also a bunch of bonus features that come with it, notes brokerage firm Faith Wilson/Christie's International Real Estate on the listing.
"(The) building offers a 24 hr concierge/doorman in private residential lobby, valet parking, dry-cleaning, a private chauffeur on call, complimentary fitness membership to 12,000 sq ft health club which includes pool, private jet service and special resident discounts for food, hotel and services at Sheraton Wall Centre," states the listing.
