While the Vancouver weather forecast calls for sunshine and toasty weather, Kits beach has closed again for swimming due to high levels of E. Coli.
The Vancouver Park Board announced that the popular Vancouver Beach was closed for swimming due to e. coli in the water on Aug.12. It also notes that staff are currently putting signage up at the beach to alert visitors.
Vancouver Coastal Health notes that the beach is "Not suitable for swimming - advisory in effect" on its website. Further, it states that recent water samples contained 1,723 E. coli per 100 millilitres of water - a safe amount is 400 or less E. coli per 100 millilitres of water.

Kitsilano Beach had reopened for swimming on Aug. 1, just in time for the long weekend. It had previously been closed on July. 27 due to high levels of E. coli.
