A man was taken to the hospital this weekend suffering from burns after was found on fire near a Vancouver SkyTrain station.
A driver spotted the man at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 outside the Main Street-Science World SkyTrain station, according to a VPD press release.
"The man’s clothing was partially on fire," Sgt. Steve Addison tells V.I.A. in an email.
The driver put the fire out and called 911; the man who had been on fire was taken to hospital with burns to his upper body and face, according to police.
"He received medical treatment at [the] hospital before being released," reads a press release.
However, how the man came to be on fire is still a mystery.
"VPD officers are reviewing security cameras in the area to determine how the fire started, and whether it was the result of a crime," reads the release.
Addison notes that police aren't sure where the fire started.
Police are asking the public for help discovering the source of the flames. Anyone who was passing through the Main and Terminal intersection between 1:30 a.m. and 2:06 a.m. on Sunday is asked to call the Vancouver police at 604-717-2541.
