A 39-year-old man has been charged in the death of a man more than a year ago.
On Sept. 28, 2023, Ricky Martinez was fatally stabbed at the intersection of Carrall and East Hastings streets.
At the time police stated a man had been assaulted around 5:15 a.m. Police arrived and the man was taken to hospital where he later died.
The Vancouver Police Department later identified the victim as Martinez.
Now, police are announcing one man has been charged in the death.
"Following an 11-month investigation by the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder against 39-year-old Hevert Solis Moreno, who was arrested earlier today by VPD officers," states the police.
Moreno is currently in police custody.
