A male victim has died after getting shot in a Richmond park on Thursday evening.
Police received calls of shots being heard in a park near the area of Moncton Street and No. 1 Road around 8:30 p.m.
Richmond RCMP said officers found the victim suffering from the gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital, but he has since died of his injuries.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) have since taken over the investigation with the assistance of the Richmond RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the Watch General Investigative Services, according to a media statement.
The surrounding area around the park has been blocked off for the investigation.
Traffic is not affected at this time.
