A man with outstanding warrants for first-degree murder, kidnapping, extortion, and breaking and entering in relation to the murder of 29-year-old Edmonton woman may be in the Metro Vancouver region, according to the RCMP.
Bith Gattang Chuol, 24, is wanted on the charges in relation to the homicide of Vanessa Silva in September 2021.
"Investigators have reason to believe that Bith Chuol was in the Surrey area recently and may still be here," says Staff Sgt. Kris Clark in a press release. "If you see him, please call 911 immediately."
Police describe Chuol as having a dark complexion with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6' 4" (193 cm) and 140 lbs. (64 kg).
If spotted, Chuol should not be approached. Mounties warn he is considered armed and dangerous.
This is not the first time the RCMP has asked British Columbians to be on the lookout for Choul. In February, local authorities stated he had ties to locations across western Canada, including Vancouver.
In November 2022, police arrested and charged one man, Cordell Enrique Federico Kenney, in Silva's death.
