Vancouver firefighters responded to a blaze that broke out at a Canada Post facility in Vancouver Friday (March 18) morning.
Photos that were shared on social media show massive flames burning in Canada Post vehicles as clouds of smoke billow overhead. One of the photos shows a vehicle that has been completely destroyed by the blaze, too.
Canada Post spokesperson Phil Legault told Vancouver Is Awesome in an email that the fire broke out at a postal facility on Woodland Drive.
"The fire department was called and they extinguished the fire. At this time, we don’t have any further information, except to say that no one was injured," he wrote.
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Acting Assistant Chief Andy Greenwood told V.I.A. in a phone interview that firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 10:30 a.m. to the 333 Woodland Dr. facility.
Three trucks caught fire on the loading dock but no one was in them when it happened. However, investigators haven't determined what started the fire, explained Greenwood.
Canada Post has not stated if any mail was damaged.
