A Maple Ridge man says he is "still digesting the win" after matching all four Extra numbers on a Lotto Max ticket.
Shane Boyes was at home having a snack when he decided to check the numbers on his ticket from the New Year's Eve draw on Dec. 31, 2024.
“I was in my garage at my workbench,” said Boyes in a BC Lottery Corp press release. “I was eating pretzels and decided to check my ticket."
The numbers matched, but Boyes couldn't believe what his eyes were seeing.
"I had to check about 100 times!”
His first call was to his wife.
“At first, I told her that there was an emergency and that she needed to come home. Once she came home, I told her and she was just in shock,” he said.
So far they don't have any specific plans for the windfall.
He bought the ticket last year at the FreshCo in Maple Ridge at 202 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road.
