A Metro Vancouver resident is half a million dollars richer after winning the Extra on a Lotto Max ticket.

Dharamjit Singh purchased the winning ticket at a lottery kiosk at Scottsdale Centre in Delta. He later found out he'd matched the 4/4 Extra numbers from the March 18, 2025, Lotto Max draw, scoring a $500,000 prize.

“I went to the drugstore to pick something up and used the self-scanner to check my ticket,” recalled Singh.

“The place where I purchased the ticket was close by, so I went there to check too. I didn’t realize I won $500,000 at first — the retailer helped me figure it out!”

The Surrey resident told his wife about his big win immediately.

“When I told her, she didn’t believe me, and she hung up the phone. I had to have the retailer tell her I won so she would believe me!”

Singh plans to use his winnings wisely. He says he will pay off his mortgage and help his kids with their student debt.

When asked how it feels to win the lottery, the local man remarks that “it will be helpful!”
