The construction of the Broadway Subway Project is moving onto its next stage, and, as a result, a month-long traffic disruption will affect the streets of Vancouver.
Construction began on Jan. 20 and will continue to restrict vehicle access to the intersection at the south side of Maple St from W Broadway for about one month.
While access to the south side of Maple St is restricted, left turns at Cypress St will be allowed from W Broadway, westbound.
Road access to Maple St from 10th Ave to laneways, parking garages, residences, and businesses will be maintained, indicates the Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BCSP).
Also starting this past Thursday, signal lights at the Maple St and W Broadway intersection will be disabled for about one week. Pedestrians may be detoured around the work area over the course of construction. As well, some street parking has been removed and posted speed limits have been reduced.
As construction schedules are subject to change, the BSPC recommends checking for updates on the project's website.
