A new air quality advisory has been issued for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley regions on Sunday afternoon.
Ongoing wildfires burning in the interior of B.C. and Washington are causing smoke to move into the regions.
The "high concentrations of fine particulate matter and hazy skies" are caused by the smoke and are expected to stay for the next few days.
According to Metro Vancouver, wind in Tuesday's forecast may clear the smoke.
Those with chronic underlying medical conditions or acute infections, such as COVID-19, are encouraged to stay away from outdoor physical activity until the advisory is lifted.
