After a fire destroyed the Value Village at 1820 East Hastings St. in 2022, the company proposes rebuilding a similar store on the same spot.
It appears to be a res-erection of sorts.
A proposal with the City of Vancouver shows a purpose-built building much like the one that burned down, with a large one-story building covering much of the property with space for 20 parking spots. Inside there would be about 17,600 square feet of retail space.
"The original building built in 1964 on 1820 E Hastings housed the first Value Village in Canada when the company expanded to Vancouver in 1980," reads the proposal.
The application notes that no special variances are being asked for.
