The beautiful, warm weather Vancouver has experienced since the beginning of July will remain.
The above average temperatures and cloudless skies are expected to continue for the next few days says Environment Canada meteorologist Dave Wray, and while a few clouds are expected later in the week, they'll be minimal and rain free.
"There's no rain or showers forecast for the next five to seven days," he tells V.I.A.
Vancouver hasn't seen rain since the end of June; the last day with any measurable precipitation according to Environment Canada's records was June 29.
"Usually this time of year it's not uncommon to go three, four, five weeks without much precipitation," Wray tells V.I.A.
He notes that May and June were relatively damp, which helps Vancouver's current conditions.
Currently Vancouver is forecast to see temperatures in the mid-20s through out the week, with areas further inland potentially reaching 31 C. The humidex may make it feel warmer, notes the federal agency's website.
Wray says the week will start off warmer with Monday and Tuesday forecast to be the hottest days. Temperatures are expected to be four or five degrees above normal (normal for this time of year is around 21 or 22 C).
He explains that on Wednesday the ridge of high pressure currently keeping the skies clear over Vancouver right now is expected to shift east. This means some clouds are expected to drift over Vancouver, but no precipitation is expected.
"It's not a complete ridge break down, it'll just be a bit cooler. There may be a bit more cloud," he says.
The nice weather is expected to remain for the foreseeable future, he adds. By Sunday or Monday there may be more of a cool down, but Environment Canada's weather models aren't certain about that.
"It's quite far away so at this point," Wray says.
While the weather is nice and he encourages people to get outside and enjoy, Wray adds health precautions against the heat and sun's rays are smart right now.
