Along with the fancy rooms it's got some reality uncommon design features for a mansion in Vancouver, including a room with sliding doors and lots of wood finishing, akin to shoji.
There are also multiple fireplaces, huge windows looking out over the back yard and a two-storey atrium.
Past listings for the address show it was going for $16.8 million as recently as last year. On BC Assessment it's assessed at $8.7 million; in 2021 it was assessed at $7.3 million.
Cheng is the architect behind a variety of well-known and award-winning structures in the area, including the Shangri-La, the Fairmont Pacific Rim and Willow Court, Arbor & Heather Terrace (which he won a Governor General's Medal for Architecture for).
