Photos: Huge new mural celebrates some of Vancouver's most famous faces

It features Nardwuar, Ryan Reynolds, Sarah McLachlan, Seth Rogen, Pamela Anderson, Michael Buble, Joe Fortes, and others.

A new mural has appeared downtown featuring some of Vancouver's most famous faces, painted by one of Vancouver's most well-known visual artists.

Located on the side of The Fall Tattooing building at 664 Seymour St, the 120-foot-long piece of art was done by hand by Carson Ting (aka Chairman Ting) and his team.

Standing 20 feet tall, the piece of art includes several easily recognizable figures from Metro Vancouver (and B.C.) done in Ting's stylized design.

Included are some of the most famous Vancouverites in the world right now, like Ryan Reynolds, Seth Rogen, and Christine Sinclair. But there's a mix too, with local favourites like Nardwuar and Kendall Gender popping up as well.

There's a nod to the city's history as well, with Joe Fortes, who was voted Vancouver's "Citizen of the Century" in 1986 (the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the city).

Others featured include Pamela Anderson, Michael Buble, Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, and retired Downtown Vancouver BIA (DVBIA) president Charles Gauthier.

In posts on social media, Ting thanked Cody Swinkels, Lynol Lui, and an artist that goes by @j_nasty808 for their help and says it was "a fun one to crank out."

"This ought to be one of the biggest and intricate hand-painted murals we’ve ever done. Super grateful for the crew we got for this job," writes Ting in an Instagram post.

The mural was created for the Downtown Vancouver BIA.

DVBIA declined to provide details about the mural at this time.
