The Vancouver Canadians were welcomed back home on April 19 by a full stadium of passionate baseball fans.
The team kicked off a five-game series against the Eugene Emeralds at Nat Bailey Stadium.
The Vancouver Canadians had just completed a four-game sweep over the Tri-city Dust Devils.
On Tuesday evening at the Nat, the sky was looking grim, but the rain held off for the entire game leaving the home opener without a delay. The C’s had spent 963 days away from their home field Nat Bailey after a cancelled season and playing in the States for a year.
All the normal occurrences you expected to see at Nat Bailey were in order: Yard dogs, the sushi-themed mascot run, fans jumping to their feet, and lots of beers lead to an exciting but slightly disappointing game as the Canadians just missed the win 5 - 6.
