Police investigate fatal stabbing in Vancouver's Chinatown

One man is dead after a stabbing in Vancouver at Main and Union streets.

A 32-year-old man is dead after being stabbed in the early morning hours of June 5, 2024.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) was called around 3:30 a.m. when a man in medical distress was seen on Union Street east of Main Street.

When first responders arrived, they found the man had been stabbed, according to the VPD.

"The 32-year-old victim died before he could be taken to hospital," states the VPD in a press release.

Authorities are collecting evidence, but no arrests have been made yet.

"Investigators would like to speak to witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam video that was near Main and Union Street between midnight and 3:30 a.m. on June 5," states the VPD.

"Anyone with information is asked to call VPD’s Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500."
