Members of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) are investigating a homicide at the University Endowment Lands (UEL).

Around 11:42 p.m. on March 13, police responded to a call about a woman in medical distress in a home on the 5400-block of Shortcut Road, according to a press release, near one of the main inroads into UBC.

Police state she succumbed to injuries shortly after.

Two people, a man and a woman, were arrested at the scene, states the release. IHIT has taken over the case and is working to identify the victim. The adult woman is believed to be associated to the residence.

"We are in the early stages of the investigation,” says Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “We are asking anyone with information to please come forward as soon as possible."

Police can be contacted at 1-877-551-4448.

The UEL, which is located between Vancouver and UBC, is in the jurisdiction of the RCMP's University Detachment.
