Police issue warning about 'suspicious man' in Vancouver park

There were two incidents on Valentine's Day.

The UBC RCMP is seeking witnesses of a suspicious man in Pacific Spirit Park.

The UBC RCMP are warning the public and seeking more information about a man acting suspiciously in Pacific Spirit Park.

On Feb. 14 they received two reports, both involving a Caucasian man in his late teens or early 20s, police state in a press release. He was not far from Spanish Banks Beach, they add.

"RCMP received a report of a man believed to be following a group of walkers and another report of a man performing an indecent act," they state, calling him "suspicious."

They're warning people to be aware while in the park.

We are asking the public to stay vigilant, keep the volume low if you are wearing earbuds and, if possible, exercise or walk with a friend, says Cpl. Christina Martin in the release.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man between 17 and 25 years old, with a slim build and dirty blond hair.

Anyone who has seen similar incidents is asked to call the RCMP's University detachment at 1-604-224-1322.
