A man who assaulted a woman and pulled a gun on a group of people at the Main Street SkyTrain station this summer is being sought by police.

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 24, according to a Vancouver Police Department media release. The suspect and woman got off an eastbound SkyTrain at the station where it appears an altercation between the two began, state the police.

"A group of men tried to intervene to help the woman, and the suspect reacted by pointing a gun at them. A witness called 911 as everyone involved was leaving," describes the VPD.

Police responded, but were unable to locate either the suspect or any victims.

“Using a search warrant, our investigator was able to locate video of the incidents at the Main Street station," states VPD Constable Jason Doucette. "Although no one involved has come forward, we are releasing photos of the suspect in an attempt to identify him.”

The man is described as being in his 30s, standing about  5’7” with a medium build and short brown hair. He has a tattoo covering his right arm.
