Although the English bay Barge was popular at first, it has overstayed its welcome.
In an online poll Vancouver Is Awesome ran last week, nearly 75 per cent of local readers said they were ready to see the large red barge beached on Sunset beach go.
This matches closely with a streeter Vancouver Is Awesome did earlier this month, asking people walking past the barge whether they wanted to see it go. Five of the six people said they were ready for it to be removed.
Our online poll shows locals are more in favour of the barge's removal; when people from outside the community are included those who want it to stay see minor gains.
