A powerful windstorm wreaked havoc in Metro Vancouver today, causing multiple power outages, downed trees, and damaged property.
You probably noticed that.
Locals took to social media on Monday (Nov. 15) to share images and videos of the storm's wrath, which included everything from patio furniture flying off a high-rise building to the pool cover at the Vancouver House catching air and floating onto a road.
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning calling for powerful winds gusting up to 70 to 90 km/hr, with the strongest gusts expected near the water. For areas away from the water, gusty winds are still possible but are not expected to be as strong.
BC Hydro is reporting multiple power outages across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island due to the powerful winds.
