Vancouverites may never have been so grateful to see some good old rain in the forecast, and that's mostly the case for Friday. Environment Canada is calling for rain with a bit of wet snow to continue what began as soggy flurries on Valentine's evening.

Temps have remained above the freezing level overnight in most of Metro Vancouver, which means mostly clear roads and plenty of slush in the region as the previous snowfall melts. Still, drivers and pedestrians should be on alert for slippery conditions on roads and sidewalks.
TransLink says they are continuing to salt and sand platforms and sidewalks, and they were running Canada Line trains through the night to keep the tracks clear. SkyTrain riders on the Expo and Millennium lines will still experience delays as they continue to operate fewer, but staffed, trains. Bus riders are encouraged to check alerts and TransLink's Twitter feed for any delays or detours on their routes due to weather conditions.
As we head into the Family Day long weekend, we can expect to see some sunshine, and a much-needed break in the snow and rain. On Saturday, Environment Canada forecasts a high of 4C with sunshine for Vancouver.
