Richmond man wins over $100K in soccer bets

A Richmond man is planning a family vacation after winning more than $100,000 from betting on soccer.

Ho Kwan (Peter) Ng said he has extra money for a "lavish family vacation" after winning $105,000 on PlayNow.com, B.C. local sports book.

Ng had placed three different soccer bets on PlayNow.com and among the bets were a nine-way parlay on an assortment of soccer and Major League Baseball (MLB) games with that particular wager to win more than $82,000.

His other two bets won a combined $23,000 from betting on Major League Soccer (MLS), Copa America women's soccer, the Brazilian Cup and the Mexico Liga de Expansion.

“I was excited, very excited and very happy,” said Ng, who first told his wife about the big win.

“She thought I was lying at first but then she congratulated me.”

Ng said he prefers making bets on PlayNow.com because he can easily place bets and buy his lottery tickets all on his mobile phone.
