They may not be track stars, but they sure are runners.
A 10 kilometre race is weaving through Vancouver this weekend.
On Sept. 17, the tenth edition of the "Under Armour Eastside 10K" is happening in-person for the first time since 2019, taking runners through the heart of East Vancouver.
This year, the race is "a run in, for, and with the Eastside," says a news release. The UA Eastside 10K partnered up with four local charities to fundraise for the communities through which participants will be running, including Contributing to the Lives of InnerCity Kids, Downtown Eastside Women's Centre, Urban Native Youth Association, and PHS Community Services.
The race course starts and finishes on Cordova Street between Cambie and Abbott streets, and sees a number of road closures between 5 a.m. and noon. The race will at 8:30 a.m.
