Four vehicles were hit with minor damage and Highway 99 near Pasco Road north of Horseshoe Bay was closed for 30 minutes Wednesday morning after a small rock fall hit the area.
Several people called police shortly after 6:30 a.m. reporting that rock debris had fallen across the highway. Some of the biggest rocks were up to the size of a basketball, said Const. Jeff Palmer, spokesman for the West Vancouver Police Department.
Three vehicles had tire damage as a result of rock fall. A fourth vehicle had damage to the undercarriage, which resulted in some fluids leaking on to the road.
Highway crews attended to clear the rock and reopened the highway to traffic.
