Calling all 'Karens.'
Your diner is arriving.
Literally. Karen's Diner, so named because of the meme, has announced its Vancouver location and dates, and it's coming up soon.
The eatery with famously rude staff is set to open up at 920 Commercial Dr., at Zawa. But for the week of May 13 to 21, it's going to be unrecognizable as an American-style diner where people can go for a bad time.
"It's an absurd, unique environment full of laughs, banter, and top-notch American diner-style grub!" states the company behind the pop-up. "We pride ourselves on our terrible service."
They suggest bringing friends who need to be roasted, or a partner who needs to be taken down a few notches.
"Whatever it is, we have you covered so sit back and watch the carnage unfold," they state.
In videos shared online people are yelled at, flipped off, and cursed out.
The way it operates is a bit unusual as well, with people reserving slots, somewhat like dinner theatre. A $55 ticket includes a drink, burger, fries and being insulted.
While the Vancouver location is a pop-up, part of a Canadian tour by the eatery, they have permanent locations in Australia (where they launched), the U.K., and the U.S.A. Karen's announced in September 2022, that they were planning a Vancouver location.
