After a period of warmer, near spring-like weather, Vancouver is likely getting a little blast of winter weather later this week.
While the week is starting off with more typical Vancouver weather, including wind, rain, and temperatures around 8 C, it won't last long according to Environment Canada's forecast.
Tuesday, Feb. 21 is when the change begins, as temperatures drop to 1 C at night, after peaking around 7 C during the day (with a 40 per cent of showers).
Wednesday is when the flurries arrive, though. A high of 3 C is expected, but at the same time a system is expected to bring frozen precipitation throughout the day. And while temperatures will peak in the positive, it'll get cold, as well. The low for the day will drop below freezing to -2 C.
Thursday should see the skies clear, but that cold air mass will remain, with a high of 2 C and low of -6 C at night.
Friday it'll remain cold, with a high of just 0 C, though it'll be sunny and clear for much of the day. However, in the evening flurries are expected again, with a low of -2 C meaning what does fall may stick a bit, or freeze as patches of ice.
Saturday things will begin to return to the seasonal norm, with a high of 5 C, though a mix of snow flurries and rain showers are expected. That precipitation will likely remain, as overnight temperatures drop to 0 C again.
