'So contagious': Vancouver photographer captures construction worker's beaming smile (PHOTOS)

"I hope the worker gets to see this picture," said the photographer.

A moment immortalized with the gentle click of a camera.

It was raining in Vancouver when the photo was taken, but you wouldn't know it looking at the beaming smile of the man in it.

Artist Raphael Esiriel captured a construction worker's contagious grin when he spotted him on the side of a statuesque building.

"I took the picture one rainy afternoon a week ago," he tells Vancouver Is Awesome. "They were installing window panes and this worker caught my eye...he was truly enjoying that moment and his smile was so contagious."

The local photographer notes that it was a "tricky moment" because the workers were sliding massive glass windows off a rope from the outside and the worker below the one in the photograph had to catch it and install it without breaking anything.

"[It's] not every day you see a guy so close to the edge, so high up," he adds, noting that everyone on the job was being "ultra-safe" and there were no hazards.

The construction site is the Vancouver Center II, which is a 33-storey downtown office located near the intersection of Georgia and Seymour.

"I hope the worker gets to see this picture," he said. "I think he saw me take some photos from the other building where I was standing, but there was no way to communicate."
