How much would you pay for a brown paper bag? Some in Vancouver seem to think the answer is at least a dollar -- or 50.
Of course, these aren’t just any ordinary brown paper bags, they’re the result of a partnership between McDonald’s and the K-pop superstar group BTS. Along with specially branded packaging comes new limited-time dipping sauces picked by the magnificent seven members of BTS and inspired by McDonald’s South Korea.
Very much aware of the limited nature of the deal, Vancouver BTS stans have ordered an extra bag with their meal for resale on Craigslist.
One listing boasts the paper bag they’re selling for $50 is “limited edition” and “never touched.”
Another lists five meal packaging items for sale at $5 apiece. One nugget box, a medium cup, an unopened packet of Cajun Sauce, an unopened packet of Sweet Chili Sauce and one “unused limited edition bag.”
Other listings offer BTS-branded sauce packets and other food packing materials for as low as $1.
Just outside Vancouver though the prices start to skyrocket with two listings offering coveted full meal sets of the packaging for well over $900.
