With average rents for a one-bedroom apartment in downtown Vancouver cracking $2,800 per month, many are looking for cheaper options.
One option is this tiny room, renting for $1,000 per month (plus an additional monthly cleaning fee of $40 and a $50 "move-in fee"). It appears to be in a space that was built as a one-bedroom unit with the little room intended for storage.
However, according to an ad on Facebook, it's a "private room for rent" with a twin bed filling almost the entire space.
"This spacious room comes with all utilities included, ensuring a hassle-free living experience. It's perfect for those who value convenience and comfort," reads the ad from Van House, a rental management company.
Photos and video show the rest of the apartment, which is essentially a washroom and one large shared space, amalgamating kitchen and living room roles.
The ad also notes the apartment is "extremely central" and one can "walk everywhere "at 550 Taylor St (across the street from the International Village Mall).
"You will love it here!" notes the listing.
