The call of the open highway might be hard to resist when you're zooming around Metro Vancouver in your sports car, but the cops just might be there to remind you there's a posted speed limit.
One driver got a tough reminder this week that going 173 km/h in an 80 km/h zone is definitely not cool.
Delta Police took to Twitter with a photo of a Jaguar F Type convertible being towed from Highway 17 (the South Fraser Perimeter Road) after the driver was nabbed by their Traffic Division for doing 93 km/h over the posted limit.
.@DPDTraffic is enforcing on the SFPR/Hwy 17 today. This vehicle was towed and the driver was given an excessive speed vehicle infraction for speeding 173 km/hr. That's 93 kms over the posted speed limit. #DeltaPolice #DPD #ToServeAndProtect pic.twitter.com/vtj7SbW4IC

By the way, in addition to the Tweet-shaming, the speeding ticket will be a cool $368 bucks, according to ICBC.
