Suspicious activity in an area where a shooting took place recently led Surrey RCMP to arrest a woman and seize a luxury car, along with cash and suspected drugs.

Just after midnight on Saturday, Feb. 20 the Surrey gang enforcement team was active in the area of a recent targeted shooting near the intersection of 121A Street and 85A Avenue, according to a police press release.

While in the area they observed a "suspicious" vehicle - an Alfa Romeo Stelvio - and ran a traffic stop. There were signs of drug possession, say police, and the driver, a 24-year-old woman, was arrested. After searching the vehicle police found more than $1,300 in cash and a variety of suspected drugs, including meth and crack cocaine.

"Property used to commit crimes, including vehicles used for drug trafficking, can be seized as offence-related property and may be subject to forfeiture by the courts upon conviction," state the RCMP.

The woman has been released from police custody while their investigation continues.
