A 66-year-old man succumbed to his injuries from a targeted stabbing in Coquitlam nearly two weeks ago.
Terry Miller died on Tuesday (Feb. 22) from a series of stab wounds he sustained from the Feb. 10 attack in the area of 228 Schoolhouse St. — a strip mall just north of Lougheed Highway.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is now taking lead on the case.
"A timeline of events is being constructed,” said IHIT spokesperson Sgt. David Lee in a statement issued this afternoon (Feb. 24), who adds investigators do not believe the incident is linked to Lower Mainland gang conflict.
"We are seeking witnesses to the event and persons who knew of Mr. Miller’s activities."
Lee adds a second victim from the stabbing is recovering and that they knew Miller as well.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 10, Mounties were called to reports of a man found suffering from stab wounds.
First responders rushed him to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
At the scene, Coquitlam RCMP taped off a large section of the strip mall parking lot to collect and examine evidence.
IHIT is appealing to the public in asking for more witnesses to the crime to come forward with statements.
Specific potential footage is also being requested from anyone who may have been in the area of Brunette Avenue and Lougheed Highway between 8 and 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.
"IHIT is working in partnership with Coquitlam RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS), and the BC Coroners Service," the special police division explains in its statement.
"Witnesses are being re-interviewed, a forensic analysis of items recovered at the crime scene and video analysis is being conducted."
Anyone with more information and/or dash-cam video of the attack is encouraged to call IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or email [email protected].
