Taylor Swift's latest album Midnights was released at midnight on Oct. 20-21 and fans around the globe were waiting anxiously to listen.
The singer and songwriter announced the album over the summer at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards; she wrote and produced the album with Jack Antonoff.
Midnights was originally set to have only 13 songs and scheduled to be released at midnight. But, on the night of the album's release, Swift surprised fans with other songs she wrote with Antonoff while making the album.
"I'm calling them 3 a.m. tracks," she wrote on Twitter. "So it's 3 a.m. and I'm giving them to you now."
Vancouver fans joined in on the worldwide 'Swiftie' sleepover and shared their reactions online.
Some fans organized listening parties and put up celebratory decorations in preparation for the new album.
Even Vancouver radio host, Carly Meyers, needed a moment to reflect.
The surge in Spotify listeners caused technical issues on the platform for some fans.
Upon the album's release, fans were quick to rank their favourite songs.
Some songs, however, didn't meet fan expectations.
