The BC Lions really, really need your help with graphic design

Is graphic design your passion?

The BC Lions put out a job listing that got some laughs online this week.

Posted to their Twitter and Facebook accounts on Thursday, Jan. 28 was a crude rendition of their classic logo, with the words "We need a graphic Designer" scrawled above it.

Those posts contained a link to their job listing for a full-time position of an Intermediate Graphic Designer, which they're hiring for ASAP.

Carolyn Cody works as the team's Director of Business Operations & Marketing, and in an email tells Vancouver Is Awesome that she was the one who designed the silly graphic that has now been shared more than 100 times on Facebook.

She used a web-based program called JS Paint—an identical version of MS Paint, but online—to create it.

It took her "about five minutes to make two versions," both of which you'll see above.

The team discussed the merits of both, then went with the "more polished" version.

According to Matt Baker, the team's Manager of Communications & Content, the idea was to "have some fun with it and attract more engagement," and of course, applicants for the position, which is a real job.

Baker explains "It’s easy to lose sight of this during these crazy times we’re in, but at the end of the day Social Media is a place for fun."

Cody notes that "Working in sports may seem glamorous but it’s hard, grinding work and you need to have a sense of humour to survive," and goes on to say "We’re a small team so we are looking for the right fit who would also find a graphic like the one we posted funny."

Love of sports and, specifically the BC Lions Football team is a tremendous asset as well.
