As 2023 comes to an end, there are plenty of top 10 lists to read.
On that note, the Vancouver Public Library has put out its list of the top 10 most borrowed books in the VPL system for 2023. This year's top 10 includes books by English royalty, an internationally renowned Vancouver doctor, and an American child star.
Subjects range widely, from self-help to Indigenous knowledge to a mystery series.

- Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
- Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr
- Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
- It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover
The library has also released lists of the top 10 most borrowed books for teens and kids. Both contain multiple books from series (with seven of the kids books coming from the same series).
