If you haven't watched the spectacularly remastered 1907 trolly video we wrote about last week, go watch that now.
If you have, and want to know more, this documentary is for you.
Put together in 2007, 100 years after William Harbeck's film making outing on the front of a Vancouver trolly, the documentary gives the interesting video context, breaking down where the trolly travels, what is seen in the video and explaining what's going on at certain points.
Among the interesting factoids is that streetcars like the ones seen in the film clip were common around Vancouver until the late 1940s, when busses became more dominant. Also, a section of the rail in the film survived at Pigeon Park.
Called City Reflections: Vancouver 1907 | 2007, the one hour piece can be watched for free on YouTube.
