A Metro Vancouver woman was too elated to sleep after winning a whopping $150,000 from scratching a BCLC ticket.
Erin Robinson won the top prize of $150,000 playing BCLC’s Bingo Supreme Scratch & Win ticket while she was visiting her parents.
“I ended up finishing scratching it while I was in bed and didn’t want to wake anyone,” she explained. “I was in shock and didn’t sleep that night!”
At 6 a.m. the following morning, the Surrey resident woke her mom up to tell her the exciting news.
“We have fun with the Lotto! app so I showed her, and the noise started going off. She was speechless and asked if I slept at all and of course, I told her I couldn’t!”
Robinson purchased the winning ticket from the Safeway on Fraser Highway in Langley. After she treats her family to a celebratory meal, she plans to take a tropical Hawaiian vacation.
“It feels insane to win. I’m excited when I win a free ticket, so this is mind-blowing,” she added.
Metro Vancouver has seen its fair share of money-making Lotto 6/49 players this month. A lucky Vancouverite is $6 million richer after playing Lotto 6/49 on March 16 and an uncle-nephew duo in the Lower Mainland won a whopping $8 million playing Lotto 6/49 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on March 9.
A North Vancouver caregiver also cashed in a Lotto Max ticket for over $243,000 in the Dec. 31, 2021, draw.
In 2021, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $99 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49.
Remember, play for fun, not to make money.
