There's a map out there for all the pinball wizards looking for a new place to try their flipper fingers.
Hosted by the website Pinside, the map shows pinball machines around the world and is regularly updated by users. Those tracking the machines have counted around 100 in Metro Vancouver, with more than 50 in the city proper.
While there are lots of places with a single machine to play, the map shows a few places with several to try out.
Of particular note are The American and the Railway Stage and Beer Cafe, which both have nine machines set up; there are a couple of other locations that have eight and several have six, so for those looking for a night out of old school arcade games, there are a few places to try out.
The map goes beyond just noting where and how many games there are, as well. It shows which games there are.
So fans of the MCU know to go to London Pub if they want to try out the Guardians of the Galaxy machine, and anyone into vintage pop culture can have a go on the Batman 66 or Ghostbusters machines at Pumpjack Pub. It's not all about heroes, either; for example, there's an Aerosmith machine at Hotel Belmont or Jurassic Park at Hero's Welcome.
It may come as no surprise that most of the machines are concentrated in downtown Vancouver, there are a couple of specific pockets with a few machines near each other: one is near West Hastings and Cambie streets, another is near Granville and Nelson streets (not including Movieland Arcade).
