The U.S. News & World Report has included four Vancouver hotels in a ranking of the top 10 hotels in Canada.
The company ranks the best hotels based on an analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings. Hotels that scored in the top 10 percentile earn a gold badge. U.S. News did not include COVID-19 data in the rankings.
Known for its attentive staff, a luxurious spa, and a high-end restaurant, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia offers a posh stay in the heart of downtown Vancouver and placed second overall. Report authors note how the Rosewood Hotel Georgia's "recent visitors said the staff's attention to detail makes guests feel like royalty." Unfortunately, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia has been closed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vancouver, however, it is accepting reservations for May 1, 2021 and beyond now, perfect for anyone planning a spring staycation in the city.
Further, the report states that the Hotel Georgia's "Hawksworth Restaurant features a formal atmosphere and a menu with locally inspired cuisine. But when just drinks will do, kick back at the 1927 Lobby Lounge, which borrows its name from the building's original construction in 1927." Diners can check out Hawksworth now, as the restaurant has remained open for business, but will have to wait until May to visit the 1927 Lobby Lounge.
Vancouver's second-highest placing property, the Fairmont Pacific Rim, placed fifth, lauded for its downtown location along the water overlooking the cruise terminal. Due to this phenomenal location, the report notes that the views are spectacular. And when guests are not gazing out across the harbour, they can "relax poolside in one of the private cabanas."
The Wedgewood Hotel & spa came seventh overall, and was praised for its central, downtown Vancouver location as well as its attentive service. In addition to well-appointed rooms, authors note that "The spacious bathrooms, which boast marble accents, deep-soaking tubs and L'Occitane toiletries, also receive a nod of approval from guests."
The Loden Hotel in Vancouver rounded out the top ten, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, gracious staff, plush bedding, and spotless, contemporary-styled bathrooms, complete with thick towels and ample space. And when they aren't in the rooms, the report says guests enjoy the royal treatment at the spa or enjoying a meal at the on-site Tableau Bar Bistro, which is prepping to re-open shortly after being temporarily closed for several months due to the pandemic.
The Fairmont Pacific Rim, Wedgewood Hotel, and Loden are all open and accepting reservations.
