This weekend one Vancouverite is taking on the world.

Phil Wizard will be representing Canada in the 2021 Red Bull BC One World Final, one of the biggest break dancing championships. He's on his way to Gdansk, Poland to spin and bend spines with the best of them as one of 12 invited to compete.

While he was born in Toronto he represents Vancouver now. It's where he started breaking; in 2009 at the age of 13 he saw a crew in downtown Vancouver and decided to pursue the dance form. He eventually joined his first crew, the Wizards, which is where his name comes from.

"Phil has a very creative, fluid and intricate flow to his style that he says naturally formed from hours of training, enjoying the dance and being influenced by those he practised around," his Red Bull bio states.

The competition will be live-streamed from Gdansk, Poland on Saturday, Nov. 6, starting at 10 a.m PST (Vancouver time). It'll be a one-on-one battle with the winner moving on to battle someone new until there's only one left standing. More information on streaming can be found on the Red Bull site.

This isn't his first trip to the competition, he competed in the 2019 edition as well; you can see some of his moves in the video below.
