Finding cheap rent in Vancouver is a nearly impossible task, akin to finding a needle in a haystack.
Finding a cheap, nice place in downtown Vancouver is even more difficult, like finding a unicorn horn in a haystack.
That's probably why places like this have popped up. It looks like the apartment itself is nice enough; it's in one of the towers near the International Village in Chinatown.
However, the sleeping space that's up for rent is tiny.
Described as a "cozy private room" it appears to be a storage area. In a video posted in the Facebook ad it's clear it's been used as a bedroom, with a tiny bed and some shelves inside.
What appears to be the panel covering the apartment's breakers is used to hang up some items.
The ad downplays how small the personal living space is and plays up the shared amenities in the unit and building, along with its location and the views, which look out over the south end of False Creek.
