One man is in "grave condition" following an incident in the city's core this morning.
Ambulances responded to a call at 8:21 a.m., Sept. 27, after receiving reports of a person trapped between two transit buses on West Cordova Street near Cambie Street, according to BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).
"Multiple paramedic units responded. One patient was transported to hospital in grave condition," BCEHS says in an email to Vancouver is Awesome.
The Vancouver police collision investigation unit is looking into the incident, according to police spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin. She notes that a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The injured man is an employee of Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC), which operates buses for TransLink, according to an email from TransLink. They confirm the incident involved two transit buses and that no passengers or pedestrians were injured in the collision.
"CMBC will be launching a full investigation, working with the relevant authorities, including the Vancouver Police Department and WorkSafeBC, to determine the circumstances that led to this incident," they state in an email to V.I.A.
