TransLink will increase service in downtown Vancouver during the 2024 Honda Celebration of Light.

The transportation authority will add extra service during the three upcoming fireworks nights in the city on July 20, 24 and 27. However, travellers should plan for extra commute time due to crowding.

Extra Transit Police, Transit Security, and SkyTrain Attendants will be at stations to assist customers.

Commuters can enjoy increased bus service across Downtown Vancouver and special pre- and post-event shuttle service in the downtown area. Some buses will be rerouted to accommodate event street closures.

  • A special pre-event shuttle service from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. will run from Burrard Station to the intersection of Denman Street and West Georgia Street.
  • A special post-event shuttle service will run from the intersection of Bidwell Street and West Georgia Street.
    • Post-event service will drop customers off at the intersection of Burrard Street and West Georgia Street, then continue to Waterfront Station.
    • Post-event service to West and North Vancouver will run from the intersection of West Georgia Street and Denman Street.
  • Due to street closures, routes 2, 5, 6, (5 p.m. to midnight) and 23 (8 a.m. to midnight) will be rerouted.

Increased SkyTrain, SeaBus, and West Coast Express service for Celebration of Light nights

The SkyTrain will operate every two to three minutes before and after the fireworks.

Commuters using the SkyTrain to get to and from the event should prepare for modified access to access at select stations. Bikes won't be permitted when crowds are leaving the area.

  • Burrard, Granville, and Waterfront stations will have modified access to entrances due to the potential for crowding.
  • Bikes will not be permitted on SkyTrain after 10:30 p.m. until crowds have cleared.

The SeaBus service will run every 15 minutes for the event from 9:15 to 11:15 p.m.. It will resume 30-minute sailings after 11:15 p.m. until 1:22 a.m.

The West Coast Express will operate a special train on Saturday, July 27.

  • One train will leave Mission City Station at 7 p.m. and arrive at Waterfront Station at 8:15 p.m.
  • The return train will begin boarding at Waterfront Station at 11 p.m. and leave at midnight.
